It should come as no surprise to you that I am a HUGE Halloween lover, that has been made more than obvious as of late. However, there are some other things that I greatly enjoy – puppy cuddles, music, camping, travel and, of course, wine! What kind of wine lover would I be if I didn’t share the perfect way to tie wine into your Halloween celebrations with these wine and candy pairings.

Now, I get it, not everyone is interested in drinking wine. In fact, depending on the day wine may or may not be my drink of choice – I also enjoy a good vodka or a cold beer if my mood calls for it. For this reason, I decided to search our pairings that would include options.
I thought, at first, that this effort may have been a challenge, however, then I stumbled across the ultimate infographic courtesy of the website sheknows. In the article, they break down how they came to each of the pairings listed, discussing the potential flavours and how they can complement one another, like milk chocolate and an orange cream cocktail. They also discuss the intensity of pairing bold flavours like those that are sour in nature and accounting for the ‘mouthfeel’ both of the drinks and candy options.
Whether you wait until after Halloween night is done, digging into your kid’s candy bag for a few of your favourite options, or take advantage of the multitudes of candy that are available to you everywhere you turn, enjoy it! There’s nothing wrong with a nice treat here and there. Allow this to become an important part of your personal self-care. Personally, I have to say that a nice glass of cabernet sauvignon and some Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups while relaxing in the bath with the perfect Halloween bath bomb would be nothing short of heaven!
