We all know ‘that couple’, the one that’s still in the honeymoon phase. They do everything together, finish each other’s sentences and discuss every plan using ‘we’, even if it’s girls’ night. Obviously, these two are going to want that perfect matching couple for this year’s Halloween party, right?
I’m going to be honest and say that description definitely doesn’t represent my husband and I lol… We’ve entered into the stage where we acknowledge just how different we are (opposites attract) and we completely embrace those differences. While we enjoy our time spent together we also value our time spent apart with friends, family and loved ones. After all, it’s all about balance! When it comes to Halloween, we may do a couple’s costume one year or another, but it’s usually some sort of inside joke with friends and family if we do, rather than some cut declaration of our love.
That being said, if that’s where you’re at in your relationship, then do you! One of my best things about Halloween is that it’s the chance to be whoever you want to be free from judgment. From skimpy, sexy costumes to completely over the top geeking out, it’s all fair game. It’s the time of year where you can literally be everything that you want to be without a second thought.
Ok, sure, there are some rules you should take into consideration – for example, there is more effort than ever in today’s society to educate people on the concept of cultural appropriation. Furthermore, you should always take a moment to consider time and place, while some costumes may be appropriate for an adult only party, for example, that doesn’t mean they are appropriate everywhere… Free from judgment doesn’t mean free to openly offend anyone you please. You’re a better person than that….

I love the flapper girl dresses! If I went to a Halloween party with my partner, we definitely wouldn’t be “that” couple haha but if we had to, I’d obviously go with Peter Pan and Tinkerbell?! Duh! xxx
