Burn Off That Halloween Candy

If there is one thing that many of us are guilty of giving into this time of year, it’s far more candy than we should be eating. After all, with the push of Halloween candies available it’s all fun size. It’s far easier to convince yourself that mini chocolate bar isn’t a big deal as opposed to a full-size bar, right? Have you ever stopped to consider what it would take to burn off that Halloween candy?

Sure, a single mini chocolate bar or a ‘fun sized’ package of skittles may seem like nothing, but how often do you just eat one? It’s a slippery slope, one leads to another and before you know it you’ve indulged in more candy than you would have if you just picked up the full-sized variety, to begin with.

While there is no denying the fact those little Halloween sized snacks are significantly smaller than the usual variety, you may be surprised to learn just how many calories each little chocolate bar or package of candy contains. Even more surprising is the workout that would be required to burn off those calories. It’s likely easy to ignore the impact of 50 calories, but when you consider the fact those 50 calories are equal to 10 minutes of cardio, are you still shrugging it off? Is it worth it?

Don’t get me wrong, I am in no way claiming to be perfect. In fact, full disclosure, we all have our weaknesses… personally, I have a hard time turning down a York Peppermint Patty. I LOVE the combination of mint and chocolate together, gets me every time. So, I am sharing this not only for all of you out there reading it but also as a much-needed reminder for myself!
