Christmas is here, a time to ‘merry and bright’. I didn’t want to skip out on posting something today in case any of you need a distraction from the family celebrations (don’t worry, we’ve all been there). In the spirit of the holiday season, I’ve put together this round-up of over 50 festive Christmas tattoos. Merry Christmas everyone!

There is nothing that screams ‘Alternatively Speaking’ more than a tattoo round-up, right? I’ve brought you these collections for different holidays (Halloween|Canada Day|International Dog Day) and seasons (Spring|Summer|Autumn), so I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to put something together for Christmas! This was not only an opportunity to celebrate with all of you today, but it was also the perfect push that I needed to tap into my holiday spirit in the days leading up to the holidays.

The week before Christmas I dug into the world of Instagram, searching hashtags such as #ChristmasTattoo and #FestiveTattoo to find a wide variety of holiday-themed tattoos. This round-up includes more traditional Christmas (imagery including Santa, candy canes and snowmen), classic holiday movies (A Christmas Story and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation) and a fun, spooky twist on the season (Krampus and festive skulls).
Put that all together, and you have everything you need to embrace the holiday season in one spot!
It’s important to note that I do NOT claim that any of these pieces are my personal work. In fact, none of the pieces listed in this round-up are even tattooed on my body. Instead, they are images that have been shared on Instagram by both tattoo artists and those who have been tattooed. Each of these images has been embedded directly from Instagram meaning that if you click on any image below, it will take you directly to the original post. The only exceptions are the featured image included at the top of the page as well as any images included in the pin. These have, however, been credited at the end of the post and are also included as embedded images in the tattoo round-up as well.
Due to the fact that the images come from Instagram, it is impossible to verify that every one of these creative pieces is properly credited to the artist responsible. If you are browsing this round-up and recognize a piece, noticing that it is not properly credited, please let me know. I strongly believe in the importance of giving credit where credit is due. The tattoo artists behind these works deserve recognition for their talent and creativity. Simply swing over to my Contact Page and drop me a message with a detailed description of the problem. I will be in touch with you shortly so that we can discuss the problem further and take the next steps required to rectify it accordingly.
Back to the tattoos… After all, this is the reason you’re sticking around, right? Grab a mug of peppermint hot chocolate or spiked eggnog, kick back in your favourite Christmas pyjamas and enjoy!

Do you know of a tattoo artist that deserves to be recognized for their talent and creativity? Are you a tattoo artist and looking for the opportunity to gain a little exposure? If so, I need to hear from you! Here on Alternatively Speaking, I have launched a fun body art series called ‘Behind the Ink’. These blog posts are an opportunity to connect with tattoo artists around the globe, pulling back the curtain for those outside of the industry. I interview each tattoo artist, asking about why they got into the industry, their favourite parts about being a tattoo artist, any advance they have for those interested in getting a tattoo and more. It’s clear, reading through these interviews, that these artists are passionate about what they do! If you would like to participate or know someone that I should connect with, please Contact Me for more information.
I hope that you have an INCREDIBLE holiday season with your friends, family and loved ones. Take some time to enjoy everything that this magical season has to offer. Make memories, indulge in some holiday sweets and share laughter with those around you. Before you know it, the new year will be upon us!
Have you ever considered any Christmas tattoos? If so, what type of festive tattoo would you like to have inked?

These tattoos are all pretty epic! Whilst I don’t think I will get any of these any time soon, I definitely need to get some more tats.
Happy holidays! 🙂

Every time I do one of these tattoo round-ups I find myself craving new ink lol
These are some great picks. My favourite is probably the Christmas and Halloween snowglobes on each leg. It’s a great way to show your love of both holidays! Notable mentions to Gizmo, The Krampus, Zero, and of course all the penguins. Merry Christmas Britt.
Zero totally won me over – I am obsessed with the character of Zero lol
These are all incredible! It was tricky picking a favourite this time around. With that said, it’s a Christmas tradition for us to watch Muppet’s Christmas Carol so I particularly liked the Kermit inspired tattoo.
Sadly a couple of the Instagram posts seem to have been removed though 🙁
This tends to happen with the roundups because I just embed them. It sucks that there are sometimes removed pictures, but I like that it gives the tattoo artists the right to do what they wish with their own work… if, for some reason, they don’t want it online anymore then they can remove it from here by removing the original source.
I love the Kermit tattoo as well! Muppet’s Christmas Carol also holds special meaning with my family – I love watching it with everyone each year!
