There’ll be a slight explanation on Wicca and Witchcraft for beginners before we dive into the books to ensure you guys are aware of what Wicca actually is. I hope you enjoy this post and, again, thank you to Britt for allowing me to write this guest post!

What is Wicca?

Wicca is a modern pagan spiritual belief/religion. You can be both a Witch and a Wiccan or just one – a common misbelief is that you have to be both. Personally, I became Wiccan as I believe in the core beliefs of the religion. For example, I believe in the rule of 3 (if you put something good or bad into the world, something good or bad will come back to you 3 times over. Essentially, karma x3).

I think this is a positive way to think as it helps me to become a better person and think twice before I put negativity out into the world, and it also encourages me to put more positivity out into the world. You can hold these beliefs and not call yourself a Wiccan, that’s the great thing about the religion, it’s super accepting to everyone.

I also enjoy reading tarot as it helps me stay on the right path and understand what parts of my current reality I’m not enjoying or aren’t leading me to a positive place in my life. Things like Tarot cards, meditation, and incense also help me with creating a state of happiness and self-confidence.

So, now we’ve had a look at what Wicca is, here are my top 5 spiritual/Wiccan books!

Witch, Please

This is one of the Wiccan books I read so it holds a special place in my heart. It’s written by Victoria Maxwell and is about empowerment and enlightenment for the modern mystic. It starts off by looking at the basic start-ups when practicing Wicca, such as explaining the different tools you can use when making spells or meditating.

I love this book as it has simple steps about what Wicca is and how to get into the religion, as well as little quotes every few pages in big letters on a singular page. These quotes always help me feel more positive and optimistic. One of the quotes is ‘You are magic and you have the power to create the life of your dreams.’

The Little Book of Pocket Spells

This is, well, a little book of spells. There are spells for troublesome colleagues, blessing a pet that’s passed away, and ways to astral project (be careful with this one!) I like this book as it’s small enough to take anywhere you want as you can just fit it straight in your back or even your pocket.

If you’re a baby Witch/Wiccan and would like some more spell ideas with explicit instructions on how to do them and what equipment you’ll need, I’d definitely recommend this book. I’ve been Wiccan for about a year now and I still use this book all the time! It may be small, but it’s full of amazing spell ideas.

Wicca

This was the first Wiccan book I ever read as I used to be obsessed with Harmony Nice’s Youtube channel. This book is super easy to understand for a beginner Wiccan and taught me the majority of things I know now. It’s not intimidating at all and is super welcoming to people who just want to learn a little bit more about the religion and modern and past Wiccan practices.

I love how accepting the Wiccan community is and Harmony definitely highlights this throughout the book. This made Wicca so much less intimidating and scary for me and the first spell I ever did was actually from this book! It also has lots of information about crystals and the different types of Wiccans/Witches, so you can figure out which one you identify as.

The Little Book of Witchcraft

This book is so mini that it genuinely could fit in your pocket. It’s super easy to carry around with you and I love reading it on public transport or when I’m in the waiting room at appointments. However, just because it’s small doesn’t mean it doesn’t have super interesting and vital information about Wicca and Witchcraft in it.

This book includes information about the history of witches, the four elements, crystals, and tarot readings. The information is really precise (since the book is so little) but also detailed at the same time, so nothing is missing and you’re left with no questions about the beginning stages of Wicca. I’d definitely recommend The Little Book of Witchcraft for beginners Witches/Wiccans.

The Little Book of Crystals

This is a really popular book about the basic principles of crystal magic and which crystals work for which spells. Each crystal has unique powers and can benefit your life in different ways. For example, Rose Quartz is good for Taurus’ and promoting self-love. I always sleep with a Rose Quartz underneath my pillow or wear it as a crystal necklace.

So, there we have it! My top 5 Wiccan books that I’ve loved the most so far in 2022. I really hope you guys enjoyed this post and I’m so honoured to have had the opportunity to guest post on Britt’s blog! Blessed be. <3
