10 Day Self-Care Challenge

As a society, we spend so much time working on maintaining our image and keeping up with the fast-paced, demanding world that we live in. I’m sure it comes as no surprise that this can play a toll on our physical health, wearing us down and even leading to feeling exhausted. What we too often overlook is the toll that this lifestyle takes on our mental and emotional health as well.

In fact, there are safeguards in place in our society to protect our physical health. It is recommended that we have regular physical exams with our family doctor, there are vaccinations to protect against disease and a number of specific tests that are recommended to catch possible illnesses before they hit, such as the pap smear and the mammogram. Yet, what steps are you taking on a regular basis to take care of your mental health? Your emotional health?

All of the different areas of our life work together like a well-oiled machine. If one goes down, it impacts everything else. Take, for example, the physical symptoms that are associated with high levels of stress. Those who are battling stress often report headaches, nausea, aches and pain, insomnia and decreased immune systems.  Therefore, if we’re going to be healthy, we need to take the time to focus on all areas of our health and well-being.

For this reason, I am going to challenge anyone who is interested to join me on a 10 Day Self-Care Challenge. The challenge is easy, below you will see a breakdown assigning a specific activity to each day for the next 10 days. Each of these activities focuses on doing something to promote better mental and emotional health by pushing you to make yourself a priority in your own life. Throughout the challenge, I invite anyone participating to share their experiences on social media and tag me in it! I will be compiling a summary at the end from my own experiences, and I would love to share some of yours as well!

  1. These are some great self care tips! I’ve been getting out and going for a walk to help try to improve my own mental state and I really benefit from just getting out and getting to loose myself for a while in nature. Self care is something I constantly feel I neglect so being reminded through posts like this are so helpful!

  2. This is such a great challenge, self-care is so important! ? I love having long baths listening to music or watching YouTube a couple of times a week. Going for walks is such a great way to de-stress and unwind. I need to work on decluttering as things get so untidy so quickly! Great post and hope you enjoy your challenge ?? xx
