My ‘Must Watch’ Halloween Movies
What better way to spend a quiet Sunday at home with my husband and the pups than to curl up and enjoy some of our favourite Halloween movies?! That was the plan for today, and here I am, writing this curled up on the couch, laptop in my lap and a puppy asleep on my feet (my furry foot warmer).
Every year in the month of October I have a list of movies that I try to make a point of working my through. Today with the availability of Netflix and Kodi that mission is easier than ever! A couple comfortable days like today curled up on the couch and I can work my way through this list in no time!
Halloween isn’t just a time of traditional horror movies (although there are definitely a few of those on the list because what’s Halloween without them?) – It’s also a time to enjoy some of the absolutely adorable Halloween themed movies that are out there. Sure, some say they were made for the kids, but if you ask me we’re all kids at heart!
If you are looking for some inspiration for your next movie day, or simply trying to find a way to get into the Halloween spirit – Here are my favourite go-to Halloween movies:

1. The Nightmare Before Christmas
5. The Conjuring
6. Corpse Bride
7. A Nightmare on Elm Street
8. Edward Scissorhands
9. Child’s Play
10. Hocus Pocus
11. Saw (the whole franchise)
14. The Addams Family
15. The Amityville Horror (1979)
16. Harry Potter (the whole franchise)
It’s important to note that these certainly aren’t in any specific order, although Ieft Harry Potter until the end because I feel like this is a great lead-in for some blog posts that you are going to see over the next couple weeks.
Not only do I ADORE my Halloween movies, but I ultimately love all things Halloween. One aspect that I take seriously is my house decorations. Each year I work with a theme (and if I like a theme, it sticks around). I don’t just run to the nearest party store to purchase everything and call it a day. Each theme is meticulously put together with handmade items and all the smallest of details.
This year I am SUPER excited about my theme – Harry Potter! That’s right! Over the next couple weeks, I will share a couple ‘how to’ style blogs with step by step instructions on how to make specific details of the decorations that I am putting together.
On October 31st, both to celebrate Halloween, as well as the last post of Blogtober, I will do a full house tour, showcasing all of the decorations as they come together. I can’t wait!
Do you have any ‘must watch’ movies for this time of year? Did I miss any of your favourites?
